The Shoulder Bag

OK.  Come on people.  Are we really calling it that?  Why can't we just call it what it is?  A purse.  It's not a fashion statement. It's just a purse. :-)

Really guys.  It's 2011. Why can't we just call it what it is?  It's not a matter of whether it's straight or gay, its just a purse. I think it's rather homophobic to call it a shoulder bag, or even a "man purse"  Just be honest.  If you wear one, you are either a gay man or a p*ssy whipped dude with no choice.  Either way, it's fine.  Just don't be shy about it.  If you want to be a man about it,  be confident! Show you don't care what it's called, and announce what it is to the world!!  A Purse!

Say it loud, and proud.   "I carry a purse!"

Just don't expect any other guy to consider you straight. :-)

PS - Women love confident men; gay or straight.

Goodnight World!

Blogger for Android !!

Well everyone, this is my first blog post from the new blogger app for android.  I have to say, its pretty easy to use. Very straightforward and uncomplicated.  The interface is simple but very friendly.

Now because I'm blogging from my phone, this one is going to be much shorter than I would like. Its just difficult to type a long...well anything on a phone.
I have added a picture that I just took from my phone camera as well to test images out.

All you android users out there, give it a try and tell me what you think.

Superbowl XLV

It's that time of year again!  Time to gather the family, some friends, and maybe even the creepy guy from your office together around the TV for the greatest event in American television;  Superbowl Commercials!

It has become a tradition in many homes to watch "the game" - Yeah, right!  No one actually watches the game anymore.  Except for the fans of whatever particular teams happen to be in the superbowl.  But lets be honest here, even those people look forward to the ads for that year.
We wait for new funny ads to make us laugh, hope for sequels to our past favorite ads, or just wait for and drool over the next Go-Daddy commercial.  Has any company ever better targeted their audience in the past.... I think not.

I, like the rest of you, have certain ads that will always be in the front of my mind as my favorites.
The Budweiser Frogs for example, is a classic Superbowl ad that everyone knows about and still talks about or at least mocks in some way.  Doritos is another company that has consistently delivered memorable ads. My favorite being the one with a bird dressed in WWII era pilots clothing that ends up face first in a garage door.  I remember laughing my ass off during that one.
On the not-funny side of the coin, there are the serious commercials.  Not all of them are memorable, but some of them do a good job of bringing a tear to your eye.

So what Superbowl ads are most memorable to you?   It's feedback time kiddies!

Ya Know What Really Grinds My Gears?!?!

Nothing really, I just felt like making that the title of this little blog post.  I have to say though, I'm kind of disappointing in the Google Wave phenomenon (do-doo-do-do-do).  I mean, I was really excited about Wave when I first heard the announcement.  I waited patiently for my invitation, and when I finally got it, I was ecstatic to be a part of the "e-mail revolution".  I invited my friends, family, etc and a few of them joined in, but most of them never used it after that.  I still have my Wave account and I still use it, but from what I understand, after a little over 2 years worth of development, Google is essentially scrapping the program.    WHAT!? WHY!?  Email is so antiquated and inefficient it's mind-boggling! I really think Google has a good thing going with Wave and that they should continue to develop it as a replacement for e-mail on a large scale.  I think an advertising campaign al la iPod would do the trick since the world is apparently completely swept up by hype these days. But I digress.

They (Google) have released "Wave-in-a-Box" which is just a very basic Wave server setup that allows people to run their own wave servers sans the awesome Google gadgets, etc, but is that really enough?  Google has cited "lack of interest" as reasons for slowing development.  They are kind of leaving it to the community to dig in and make it whole.

Now, not to bash Linux (did ya catch the pun there?), because I LOVE Linux, but the lack of main stream popularity of Linux is due, at least in part, to the lack of real funded development.  Granted there are TONS of flavors out there, but apart from the most recent Ubuntu flavor, which was targeted directly at PC newbies, Linux has stagnated in the market and will probably never be a viable OS for the general PC user.  That, to me, is sad.  Linux has such great potential to be a real Windows replacement OS.  Maybe it's the general Linux community attitude that Linux is for geeks, by geeks and they don't, in some weird way, want Linux to be mainstream, but come on guys!

Anyway, the point is that Google Wave will end up going the way of Linux if they don't jump in and really nurture it into what it has great potential to be, and what we need to move forward in internet land.  If anyone has the power to replace email, it's Google.  So why are they stopping or at the very least, slowing WAY down?

That was more of a rant than I thought it would be.  I told you, the thoughts of a G-Raff are random.

I look forward to comments/opinions, etc.  BRING IT!

Creepers, Boats, and Boomboxes; OH MY!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I really like to laugh and watch/read/listen to things that make me do so.  That being said, I LOVE The Lonely Island.  In case you don't know who they are, go here and have a look around.
The guys released an album last year, "Incredibad" that made pretty much everyone that knows who they are happy and made those who don't know them like them.
Now, coming in 2011, they are releasing a new album!
I personally can't wait for it to come out.  Two new videos from the album are already on YouTube.  "The Creep" and "I Just had Sex".  Both of these feature well known artists and are really funny.
If you want to get a good feel for the songs, you should really watch the videos that accompany most of them.  Boombox is one of my personal favorites.

So comment and let me know if you have heard of them, what your opinion of them is, and if you like them or not.

Correction: Superman 3.0 - Nolan to Mentor Yet Another Reboot

I just read this article and a new Superman movie is targeted for release in Dec 2012. As much as I like Chris Nolan's comic-based films, (especially the newest Batman series) I have to wonder when this reboot stuff, in general, will end.
I mean, with Batman, something had to be done. They ended the last series with 2 really crappy movies and kind of ruined Batman in my opinion. Thankfully, Nolan came in and did an amazing job giving Batman back his street cred.

Now back to Superman. I personally thought that the last movie was a good way to revive the series and since Brian Singer is such a HUGE superman fan, he stayed true to the core values that made superman great. And Brandon Routh was a really good choice to play him, too. The new guy is a British actor named Henry Cavill  who, from his head shot looks very rough and grizzled. I'm hoping that they clean him up enough to pass as everyone's favorite clean shaven Kryptonian.

So what do you guys think about a Nolan Superman reboot?
